The model consists of a GRP hull, with fittings to be made from plasticard and pre-made parts of white metal and brass. I will be adding lighting and other detail to the build.

As most of the parts have been made that need to be made before painting, I decided to add some detail not included in the plans, but is on the real ship (from photos). Here is an aerial that is mounted on the mast.
I started building the AZIZ from Model Slipway in December 2005. I have had several breaks from building due to other commitments, but I am getting there! The model will be primarily a static model, but I am building the kit with the option to add motors and electronics to convert the AZIZ into a working model at a later date.
